A Comprehensive
Cohort (Pilot) Study in Type II Diabetes with High Risk of CAD in China (CCMR-301-CCDC)
Primary objectives:
To assess the incidence of cardiovascular
events occurred within the 12 month follow up period and current treatment
patterns in type II diabetic patients with either high risk factors of CVD or
prior/existing CVD. Secondary objectives:
1. To
assess whether inadequate glycemic control impact on the incidence of CV events
in diabetic patients with high risk of CVD or prior/existing CVD;
2. To
assess the impact of certain combination of hypoglycemic therapies on the
incidence of primary or secondary CV events;
3. To
assess the incidence of cardiovascular events in newly diagnosed vs.
established diabetic patients with or without prior/existing CVD;
4. To
assess current hypoglycemic treatment patterns and outcomes in terms of HbA1c
and glucose levels, and incidence/progression of diabetic complications other
than CVD;
- To assess safety profile of current
therapy and reasons for change of hypoglycemic medications
- To assess predictors and influencing factors
for achieving target glycemic control and prevention of CVD
- To assess the Impact of patients’ social
economic profile on therapeutic outcomes
- To assess physicians’ behavior toward
prevention and managing cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients
